Drugs.ie’s National Youth Media Awards Competition gives young people between the ages of 12-25 a platform to voice their opinion or experiences with drugs or alcohol.

The 2016 themes are ‘What are the hidden harms of alcohol use?’ and ‘What are the effects of drug use?’

To enter, you can create either: a short video, an audio podcast, a news article; or a poster based on this years theme.

Drugs.ie want you to get creative, share stories and experiences. They say that positive or negative topics can be incorporated.

One project worker said “Young people will have their own experiences with drug and alcohol use, whether that it is their own use or their friends or families. It is more beneficial for young people to understand the reasons behind drug and alcohol use and have a knowledge of the effects and risks of substances.”

The winning entries get published on drugs.ie and the overall winner of the competition receives €2,000! Plus your entry could impact and educate other young people on the effects of drugs or alcohol use.

This year’s deadline has been extended to the 28th of January.
