Being a young LGBT person isn’t always easy. Young LGBT people in Ireland can face numerous specific and difficult challenges. BeLonG To Youth Services have been providing vital support to those young people in helping them overcome those challenges for over a decade now.

BeLonG To run youth groups all over the country, providing a safe space for LGBT young people to be open and comfortable in. As well as that, BeLonG To run specific programmes for young LGBT people who use drugs, young LGBT people who are asylum seekers or refugees, and parents of LGBT children.

They have also spearheaded numerous advocacy campaigns, including this recent one pushing for a Yes vote in this year’s marriage referendum:

Recently, BeLonG To Founding Director Michael Barron and Executive Director Michael Barron have announced that they are moving on from the organisation.

Michael founded the organisation in 2003, which has gone on to significantly impact the lives of LGBT young people in Ireland for every generation then on. David joined in 2006, leading the development of further life-saving LGBT youth services all over Ireland.

Congratulations to Michael and David and their massive achievements in improving conditions for LGBT young people all over Ireland!

I’m an LGBT young person and need support
