The 8th national Stand Up Awareness Week against LGBT bullying is taking place between 14-18 November 2016.

Stand Up! Week tackles LGBT related bullying by increasing awareness, friendship and support for LGBT young people by other young people. Stand Up! is endorsed by the National Youth Council of Ireland, Youth Work Ireland, Foróige and NAYD.

There are workshops leading up to Stand Up! Week taking place around Ireland and will help you prepare for Stand Up week. These workshops will be delivered by senior staff from Belong To who are very open to questions and discussions. There will be new content on suicide prevention and on the needs of transgender young people.

You can book a place online for any of the following training sessions:

  • Kilkenny: 25 October, 2-5pm - Desart Hall, New Street, Kilkenny City
  • Sligo: 26 October, 10am-1pm - North Connaught Youth and Community Service, Rockwood Parade, Sligo Town
  • Dublin: 27 October, 10am-1pm - Youth Work Ireland Offices, 20 Lower Dominick Street
