Looking to do more this summer? This international sailing voyage on a tall ship might be for you.

Set sail with Windseeker's Erasmus+ Youth Exchange programme.

Looking for an adventure? How about an international sailing voyage in Europe with a profesional sailing crew?

Windseeker, a youth sailing organisation, are inviting young people from Ireland aged 15-28 to apply for the Erasmus+ International Youth Exchange Programme. Erasmus+ is a European Union project which aims to strengthen the sense of European citizenship through sport and education.

Disability assistance and scholarship funding is available with Windseeker's Erasmus+ Youth Exchange Programme. 

 What is Windseeker?

  • Windseeker is a youth sailing organisation which arranges sailing training voyages for young people on traditional Tall Ships.
  • Working together with Erasmus+, Windseeker offer an International Youth Exchange programme which mixes sailing adventure with a multicultural experience.
  • Places are currently available to Irish participants on the Creola Voyage from 30/7/18- 11/8/2018.

The Creoula Voyage

  • The Creoula Voyage sets sail from Vigo a coastal town in Galicia, Spain and weather dependent heads towards the ports of Santander or Bilbao.
  • Over the 11 day voyage students learn about sailing while also taking part in daily activities, games and cultural evenings.
  • The aim of the Creoula Voyage is to enable participants to engage in a multicultural programme with students from across Europe while challenging themselves to discover and develop new talents through sailing.

Who can apply?

  • Young people aged between 15-28 from Spain, Portugal, Norway, the Netherlands, Denmark, Ireland and the UK.
  • There are places for 48 students on board.
  • No previous experience is necessary for those wishing to take part.
  • Places are available for participants with disabilities with 2 caretakers on board.

Sponsorship and Costs

  • Costs are €700 for ages 15-25 and €1200 for those aged 26-28.
  • In certain circumstances reimbursement of travel costs are also available to participants. For further information click here.
