Relief. Regret. Sadness. Happiness. Excited. These are all the feeling plus many more that will be felt on result day/night. Results night I believe is a chance for former leaving cert students to completely unwind and release all the stress for the last two years. It may be a night where you want to try and forget the events that happened and have a good time, or you could be celebrating that you got your points or that your just finished school forever.

Personally, I am looking forward to results night, it will be a night to just get rid of all the stress that the leaving cert brought. It will also be the last time I see most of my school friends since I already had my debs. My friends and I don’t have any solid plans at the moment, no doubt we will end up at one of the Leaving Cert results nights in Dublin’s City Centre.

Every year we see people on social media and in everyday life, moaning about the ‘youth of today’ and how they drink too much and take drugs. These always come about no doubt around leaving cert results. Just because we are young doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be allowed to have some fun, especially when we deserve it. Yes, there will be a minority who will go too far, but everyone does that in their lifetime. Why not while we are young? And the hangovers aren’t that bad.

I do though believe, the night can be too hyped and it is all people are worried about, but as I said, it’s a night to celebrate all your hard work and the end of second level education for all but a few. I just hope that everyone, has a fun, happy and safe night whatever they may be doing.
