Anita Ghafoor-Butt is the Head of Education and Training for a Sexual Health and Reproductive Health and Rights NGO. She is a qualified Health Promotion Specialist and has previously worked for the NHS Trust in the UK. Most recently In Ireland, she has co-authored the Royal College of Physicians Better Sexual Health for Ireland Policy Statement: enabling informed decisions and promoting education.
Anita has extensive experience of developing and facilitating Reproduction Health training with professionals, young people and parents at both a National and International level. She is currently the Ireland expert to the EU on the Daphne III programme ‘Keep me safe’ which aims to empower young people with disabilities to keep themselves safe from sexual abuse and exploitation.
Anita has completed a Masters/ Post Graduate Higher Diploma in Health Promotion and Public Policy and holds a BSc with Honours in Health Sciences. Anita’s most prized achievement to date are her three children Asim, Maryam and Hannah-they are the best kids in the world!
