Make small changes for a happier, healthier you, Ireland’s youth information website, are today launching a brand new ‘Health Hack’ campaign highlighting the small changes people can make for a happier, healthier lifestyle.

With thousands of students packing up and moving back to college or away from home for the first time, are highlighting the simple and easy tips that can benefit everybody’s mental and physical health.

The challenge is simple; get 30 minutes of exercise a day for the duration of the campaign (September 16-26) and plan your meals to ensure you are getting a balanced and varied diet. Participants will have the option of signing-up to receive personalised one-to-one text (SMS) support for a month to help keep motivation up and kickstart good habits and routines.

“Heading back to school, college and work after the summer is a hectic time for many, and our diet and exercise routines tend to take a back seat to our busy schedules.” says Ian Power, executive director of

“Our ‘Health Hack’ campaign aims to take the hassle out of living a healthy lifestyle by helping you make small changes to how you eat and fit exercise into your day. We’ll have lots of information on the site about motivation, diet, and the best apps and websites out there to help you reach your goals. We will also be providing one-to-one text support to anyone who signs up to take part in our four week ‘Health Hack’ challenge.”

As part of the campaign, outreach events will take place in Carlow (September 16), Limerick (Sep 17), Sligo (Sep 18), Cork (Sep 23) and Dublin (Sep 24). We’ll also be encouraging people to share their own ‘health hack’ tips on social media with the hashtag #HealthHack14.
