Don’t miss out on your chance to give a volunteer you know the special thanks they deserve – nominations are open for the Volunteer Ireland Awards 2013. Shine a light on Ireland's remarkable volunteers by nominating a volunteer you know at www.volunteer.ie.

Anyone can nominate a volunteer for the Volunteer Ireland Awards – so whether you know a friend, family member, colleague or someone in your organisation that volunteers and deserves a special thank you, visit www.volunteer.ie to nominate today.

Every volunteer nominated for the Volunteer Ireland Awards 2013 will receive a 'thank you' card in recognition of their contribution as a volunteer. The deadline for nominations is Friday, October 25th.

There are10 different Awards categories including Sports, Arts, Youth, Environment, Community, Health, Education, Social Work, Awareness Raising and International Development. 30 shortlisted nominees will be announced in early November.

Thirty shortlisted Volunteer Ireland Award nominees will attend a gala Volunteer Ireland Awards ceremony in Dublin City Hall on December 5th, hosted by RTÉ star Keelin Shanley. Ireland’s Volunteer of the Year 2013 will be announced at the ceremony.
