Focus Ireland believes that everyone has a right to a place they can call home. The charity works to prevent young people, adults and families from becoming, remaining or returning to homelessness through the provision of quality services, supported housing research and advocacy.
The Irish Council for Social Housing (ICSH) was formed by housing and hostel organisations in Ireland to act as a national representative, promotional, information and advisory federation. The ICSH now represents over 300 affiliated housing associations and other voluntary organisations involved in housing or hostel services, providing accommodation of over 19,000 homes to: elderly persons, homeless and vulnerable persons, people with intellectual, physical, sensory and mental health disabilities, individuals and families on low incomes.
Leanbh was set up to address child begging in Dublin. Leanbh is a 24/7 service for children, young people and parents who are begging or at risk of begging on the streets. Leanbh is an ISPCC service which seeks to: actively monitor the presence of begging children/young people on the streets; link children/young people found begging with appropriate helping services; identify and work with parents of such children/young people.
