Recovery provides an opportunity for the patient to practise self-help and to take over the management of their lives once again. The mission of Abraham Low Self-Help Systems is to use the cognitive-behavioral, peer-to-peer, self-help training system developed by Abraham Low, MD, to help individuals gain skills to lead more peaceful and productive lives. Participants are asked at each meeting to help support the organization via voluntary contributions, with the suggested donation being Û3 per meeting. If an attendee isnÕt able to contribute, that should not deter him or her from attending Recovery International meetings.
The young persons Recovery group was set up to have a group that consists predominantly of young people because some members thought that younger people might be intimidated at the other groups and may feel that mental illnesses are not normal thing for young people to suffer.
