SOLAS (previously known as FAS) is the government body which is in charge of further education in Ireland. If you are leaving school, unemployed or simply looking for a job you can choose from a wide range of training courses provided by SOLAS and Education Training Boards.
Courses available include anything from short courses, to specific skills training relevant to particular industries such as construction. Some of the courses provide a training allowance, as well as a contribution towards travel and meals. Eligibility conditions and training allowances vary widely between courses so you should check the details of each course carefully.

SUSI (Student Universal Support Ireland) are Ireland's single national awarding authority for all higher and further education grants.
Grants available to students entering college or a new academic year include Student Maintenance Grant or a Fee Grant, with different types of grants available for PLC students, undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and students studying outside the State.
