Dublin South City Ability Programme is a free voluntary programme for young people aged 18 – 29 that offers support and guidance to help them work and study.

The programme connects young people experiencing emotional, psychological, mental health challenges and co-occurring disabilities with guidance workers. The guidance workers work with participants to help them engage with work and/or study, learn new skills, find volunteering opportunities and take steps towards finding sustainable employment.

What supports are offered through the Ability Programme?

The type of support offered is person centred career planning and pathway support on a one to one and/or group basis.

Some supports offered include:

  • exploring personal interests
  • building confidence and communication skills
  • writing CV’s
  • interview preparation
  • finding volunteer or work shadowing opportunities
  • support to access local training and education

Ability Programme staff also work with local employers, employment services, education and training providers to support the progression of young people in their work and study.

Where is the Ability Programme on?

The new Dublin South City Ability Programme is up and running across Dublin 2,4,6,6W,8,10,12,20 and have workers based in Crumlin, Ballyfermot and the Inner city.
