If you’re looking for a way to fill the summer months, Voluntary Service International have over 500 volunteer abroad opportunities available in over 70 countries.

Voluntary Service International are the Irish branch of Service Civil International, carrying out voluntary and community work across Ireland and internationally.

2018 volunteer abroad opportunities

VSI have just launched their 2018 programme with over 500 volunteering opportunities. This includes:

  • Working with refugees and asylum seekers at a community centre in Belgium
  • Fighting environmental degradation in Indonesia
  • Organising events and festivals in Switzerland
  • Restoring medieval castles in northern France

Projects can last anywhere between 2 weeks and 2 months. You do not need any special skills or past experience to take part. You must be over 18 to take part, but there is no age limit.

Nicole, a past EVS volunteer in Greece in 2017, said of her experience, “I’m a different person, I’m more open-minded, more outgoing and more determined. It’s made me more able to take other opportunities. I wouldn’t change it for the world.”

VSI Information event

VSI are holding an information event for anyone who is interested in these volunteering opportunities to learn more on Thursday 12 April 2018.

Hear from past volunteers about their experience, find out about the opportunities available, and get answers to any questions you have about VSI and volunteering from VSI staff. The event will be held from 6pm-8pm at Carmelite Community Centre, 56 Aungier St., Dublin 2.

If you can’t attend the event but would like to know more, you can contact VSI on [email protected], or visit their website or Facebook page.
