Join young women from across Ireland at FemFest 2019

The lineup for FemFest 2019 has been announced. FemFest is the National Women’s Council of Ireland’s annual event for young women across the country. At this conference, young women are encouraged to come together to discuss leadership, equality, and plans for the future of feminism. The theme of FemFest this year will explore women in public life in Ireland in the past, present and future.

FemFest is for women aged 16 to 25, and is a space to talk about young women, for young women. There will be several talks taking place at the conference from women of all ages and all walks of life. These talks aim to involve the audience to open up a fun and engaging conversation.

Aims of FemFest

FemFest aims to raise awareness of, and question issues which affect young women in Ireland today. All leadership aspects of the convention will be taught from a feminist perspective. Through encouraging young women to use their own voice and agency, all attendees of the event will be asked to set practical objectives which could be used to battle these problems in future. FemFest aims to provide young women from all over Ireland with an opportunity to make connections with diverse groups of women from a variety of backgrounds.  

Where and when is FemFest happening?

FemFest will take place at Liberty Hall on Eden Quay in Dublin 1 on January 19th, 2019.

The event will take place over the course of the day, from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm.

Cost

The event is free to attend. Registration for tickets can be done through the eventbrite page.

Additional information

Preferred pronouns will be displayed on your lanyard when you enter the event, and there will be access to gender neutral bathrooms. A light lunch will be provided on the day with vegetarian options included, as well as a limited number of gluten free options.
