St Patrick’s Mental Health Services annual Frame of Mind Short Film Competition is now open. The aim of the competition is to improve awareness about mental health and to remove the stigma associated with mental health difficulties. 

Frame of Mind Short Film Competition

The Frame of Mind Short Film Competition is:

  • Open to all ages and split into two categories, secondary school and general 
  • The winner of the competition will receive €1, 000 and the runner up will receive €500 
  • The closing date for entries is 5pm on Friday November 23rd 2018

How can I enter?

If you would like to enter create a 2-3-minute-long video that tells a story you feel portrays a positive mental health message. You can use any type of camera you feel comfortable with and free video editing programmes that are available online if you do not already have your own. Your film can be based on personal experience or something topical that you want to highlight as a positive message about mental health.

Checklist to enter

  • Create a 2-3-minute film which you feel portrays a positive mental health message
  • Upload your short film to Vimeo
  • Email your Vimeo URL to [email protected]
  • Complete and attach your entry form
  • Read the Terms and Conditions for the competition.

When will the winners be announced?

The shortlisted entries from both categories will be shown at a special screening in St Patrick’s University Hospital on December 10th 2018 at 6pm. The winners will be selected by a panel of judges, who this year are:

  • Paddy C.Courtney- Actor and IFTA nominated screenwriter
  • Michael Doherty- Films Editor for the RTÉ Guide
  • Nick Kelly- Writer and Oscar nominated short film Director
  • Tom Maher- Director of Services, St Patrick’s Mental Health Services
