Youth Mental Health Task Force Report 2017

The National Youth Mental Health Task Force was established in September 2016 to bring together experts working in the field of youth mental health, providing national leadership and provide action-focused recommendations to improve youth mental health and wellbeing.

The 2017 report, which was launched on Tuesday 12th December, provides 10 key recommendations to address the need for improved youth mental health services around the country. These recommendations include:

  • Consulting young people on policy, legislation, and the design of youth mental health services.
  • Investment in age-appropriate digital youth mental health supports.
  • Improve provision of mental health supports to young people at the primary care level
  • Development of a funded national research programme on youth mental health
