Banking & Payments Federation of Ireland (BPFI) launch BusinessEducation.ie
Students of leaving cert subjects business, economics and accounting have been reminded to visit online revision resource BusinessEducation.ie to recap on their studies before the exams begin next week.
Developed by the Banking & Payments Federation of Ireland (BPFI) in conjunction with the Business Studies Teachers’ Association of Ireland (BSTAI), the site provides a number of learning resources for teachers and students of Leaving Certificate business related subjects.
In addition, the content includes a series of curriculum linked case studies in association with BPFI member banks AIB, Bank of Ireland, KBC Bank Ireland, and Ulster Bank which provides students with relevant and up-to-date business material. The case studies are designed to bring real Irish business stories into the classroom for the benefit of both students and their teachers, linking the world of education directly with leading business organisations.
Other key resources on the site which are updated on an ongoing basis throughout the year include:
-
Sample exam questions and worked-out answers written and assessed by experienced teachers
-
An overview of and commentary on the most up-to-date figures on a range of Ireland’s key economic indicators written by BPFI’s chief economist
-
Useful links to business news stories relevant to both the business and economics curricula.
“The content on the site has been developed in close collaboration with teachers themselves and is designed to support students who are looking beyond the textbook for success," says Felix O’Regan, Director Public Affairs, BPFI.
"Since we launched the website it’s been a tremendous success and we’ve seen increased interaction year in, year out. In addition to the sample exam questions and answers which are a practical revision tool, students will find of immense value in the curriculum linked business case studies which use real life business examples to showcase the practice not just the theory.”
“In the run up to the exams we wish all students the very best of luck as they make the final preparations during what is undoubtedly a stressful yet exciting time in their lives” added Mr O'Regan.
