Are you interested in working with the environment, or simply looking for new training opportunities?

ECO-UNESCO will be starting a free Youth Employability programme in Dublin at the end of May.

The programme, which is aimed at under 25s, will teach specialist skills for employment and provide a QQI Level 3 certificate when complete.

The programme in Eco Community Development aims to help young people “build the skills and confidence needed to progress on to sustainable employment”.

Non-formal education

The Youth Employability programme uses “non-formal education techniques” so that all learning is activity-based.

The programme provides one-to-one mentoring to help each individual achieve their goals, and there is “ongoing support towards further education, training or employment”.

Hands on experience

Throughout the programme young people will get to do “field trips for hands on experience in the natural environment”, as well as a five week work placement.

Those attending will get guidance and advice about their CV and be taught interview skills to help them with their search for sustainable employment.

The programme will run for 10 weeks and is open to young people aged 18-25 from all backgrounds, including refugees, those engaged with the probation service, and people in long term homelessness accommodation.
