Apprenticeships are a great career option for both men and women, but previously have been taken up more so by men. To encourage women to consider taking an apprenticeship, DIT are hosting a Young Women In Apprenticeships Open Day.

DIT Young Women in Apprenticeships Open Day 

The DIT Young Women In Apprenticeships Open Day will take place on Thursday the 15th of March in DIT Linehall. If you are a young women in secondary school, a career guidance teacher or a young women from the Dublin area you are encouraged to attend. At the open day you will be able to learn about the apprenticeships available at DIT as well as the opportunities available once your apprenticeship is completed.

DIT Access to Apprenticeship programme

The DIT Young Women in Apprenticeships Open Day is part of their Access to Apprenticeship programme. The Access to Apprenticeship programme aims to support 16-24 year old students from disadvantaged backgrounds as they take up apprenticeships. The programme is a skills sampling course which runs for 12 weeks.

The programme has three separate terms, with each having places for 16 students.The course is made up of 10 weeks of classes at DIT Bolton Street and then 2 weeks of work experience which is provided by a panel of employers working in different areas of apprenticeship.

Recruitment for the Access to Apprenticeship programme will begin on the 3rd of April. If you are interested in taking part in this programme you will be able to speak to members of staff at the Young Women in Apprenticeship open day about both the application form and selection process.

  • The open day takes place on Thursday the 15th of March from 11:00am to 3:00pm in DIT Linehall which is across the road from DIT Bolton street.
