There are places available throughout the year meaning you can start the course whenever you can, when there is a spot for you.
You can download the form to fill in, or you can contact the Training Programme Manager to get an application form posted out ot you.
When you apply you have to go to an informal interview with the Training Programme Manager. You might have to meet with a SOLAS Case Officer too, depending on your situation. If you are eligible for the programme and there is a place available, you will be offered a week to meet the instructors and see if you like the course.
You are assessed on an ongoing basis through projects and demonstrations of still. There are some written exams but they are accessible for people with literacy needs and support is available if needed. You must also complete work experience during each year.
You can keep your disability allowance while taking part in the course, and will receive a SOLAS training allowance, too. You might also be able to get a meal allowance or rent allowance, depending on your age and the current payment you get.
