Learn how you can get involved at Youth Work Ireland’s national conference

Youth Work Ireland are inviting young people and those working with young people to attend their national conference, Equality 17, on Saturday October 21st, 2017.

The Equality 17 National Consensus Conference is part of a year-long campaign run by Youth Work Ireland, encouraging and supporting young people to become involved in activities that create change and make Ireland a fairer society for all.

Throughout the day you’ll have the opportunity to attend practice-based workshops and TED-style talks. Young people can learn how they can get involved by linking in with partner organisations at the exhibition space, where organisations will highlight key issues they’re working on. There’s also a creative fair where you can take part in badge-making, stencil-making, stop-motion, creative writing and poetry, and more!

‘TED’ Style Stage Talks:

• Vanessa Lacy, Transgender Equality Network Ireland.
• Sinead Kane, Motivational Speaker & Disability Activist.
• Senator Fintan Warfield.
• No Hate Speech Movement.
• Mike Allen, Focus Ireland.

Workshops include:

• Disability Awareness Workshop.
• Work to Learn Workshop, a job experience programme for young people.
• STATUS Toolkit Workshop.
• Influencing Social Change Through Action.

Tickets cost €70 or €35 for young people/unwaged.

Tea, coffee, hot lunch and conference materials included.
