How to make bruschetta

Try this bruschetta as a tasty and filling snack that is great in both the summer or winter, though ideally made when tomatoes are in season.

About this bruschetta recipe

  • Servings: 4
  • Preparation time: 2 minutes
  • Cooking time: 3 minutes
  • Utensils needed: baking tray, chopping board, chopping knife

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of thick crusty wholegrain bread
  • 1 clove of garlic, cut in half
  • 2 teaspoons of olive oil
  • 2 medium tomatoes

Method

  1. Take each slice of bread and cover lightly with less than half a teaspoon of olive oil
  2. Put the slices under the grill, taking care not to overcook them
  3. Hold the cut side of the garlic towards the bread and rub it lightly
  4. Chop some tomatoes and mix with the little remaining olive oil
  5. Place loosely on top of the cooked bruschetta
