Why deal with the stress of figuring out budgeting on your own when you can use helpful money saving apps to help budget and save money? These apps range from helping you learn how to budget your money to keeping you organised when it comes to managing your money.  Learn more about these brilliant apps that can help save loads of money throughout the year.

Spending Tracker

  • Spending Tracker is a great way to help budget and see where you are spending your money the most- every time you spend money or you get paid you are asked to put said money in a category such as: income, food, fuel, clothes, and entertainment.
  • Price: Free
  • Available for: iOS and Android


  • Splitwise is a great app for when you need to split bills with multiple people- such as housemates, roommates, or partners - it allows you to log all bills or other fees/IOUs so that everyone can see it and then it will give you a notification when each person pays their part of the bill.
  • Price: Free

Receipt Bank

  • Receipt Bank is an excellent app that allows you to keep track of all of your receipts - the app allows you to scan your receipts and it will store it for you on the app that way you don’t have to hassle with keeping up with paper receipts.

  • Revolut is a digital banking alternative that includes a pre-paid debit card, currency exchange, cryptocurrency exchange and peer-to-peer payments.
  • Price: Standard plans are free
  • Available for: iOS and Android


  • TransferWise is used for transferring and receiving money while traveling abroad- so if you are planning on living abroad or traveling abroad use this app because it will use a standard exchange rate instead of massive charges that often come with your bank’s exchange rate.

Money Lover

  • Money Lover is a good app to start with to get your finances in order - it keeps track of your daily spending, and will notify you if you go over your monthly budget.

  • Spendee allows you to better manage your spending by allowing you to create different ‘wallets’ for different spending purposes (e.g., finances, holiday, credit cards, family, etc.).

  • Finally, if all else fails and you want to get strict with your finances this year try the app YNAB or otherwise known as ‘You need a budget’- this app will keep you in check and notify you when you are spending too much on a set categories.
