How to confirm COVID-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment eligibility
You must confirm your employment status by July 13th to continue to receive payment
If you are currently receiving the COVID-19 pandemic unemployment payment and need to continue receiving it, you have to confirm that you are eligible to do so at MyWelfare.ie before the 13th of July.
Why do I have to confirm COVID-19 pandemic payment eligibility?
As the COVID-19 restrictions begin to lift, the Government want to ensure that those receiving the pandemic unemployment payment are not able to work due to the pandemic. To confirm this, they are asking anyone who is currently receiving the payment to confirm their employment status with them before the 13th of July.

When will the Pandemic Unemployment Payment stop?
The Pandemic Unemployment Payment has now been extended from the 9th of June until the 10th of August.
New regulations have been put in place which will reduce the amount of money people receive from the payment depending on how much they were earning before the pandemic.
The two levels of payment for the Pandemic Unemployment Payment:
- For anyone who earned €200 per week or higher (about 75% of those who received it) before the pandemic, the payment rate will remain at €350 per week
- For anyone who earned less than €199.99 per week (about 25% of those who received it), the rate will be €203 per week. This is the primary rate of payment of the Jobseeker’s Benefit scheme
What happens if I am no longer entitled to the payment?
If your application to still receive the Pandemic Unemployment Payment is unsuccessful, you can then apply for Job Seeker's Payment instead. Jobseeker's is a payment for people who are out of work or have been made part time, to help them support themselves while looking for work.
