Write for SpunOut.ie's Quit Smoking campaign
SpunOut.ie is looking for anyone aged 16-25 who wants to help open up conversations about smoking
This December, SpunOut.ie is running our Quit Smoking Campaign and we’re looking for young people across Ireland to add your voice to the campaign!
Get involved in the campaign
- What advice would you give to a friend who feels pressure from friends or family to smoke?
- How can we support a friend who is trying to quit smoking?
- What do you think of the smoking culture and the pressure to smoke?
- What do you think about vaping and the culture around vaping?
- What do you think about the impact of smoking on your physical and mental health?
We believe that young people across Ireland can help support each other by their sharing stories, lived experiences, advice and opinions. If you’re between 16 and 25 years old and living in Ireland, we’d love to hear from you if you’re interested in writing an article or making a video to support young people to give up smoking or avoid starting to smoke.
Do I need writing experience?
You do not need any writing experience. We’ll help you out every step of the way giving you feedback and suggestions for your piece. Your piece will be posted on SpunOut.ie and our social media so that thousands of young people across Ireland will feel more supported and encouraged to seek help.
What’s the campaign about?
With this campaign, our goal is to help young people understand what drives someone to start smoking, and to face these challenges of quitting head on. We hope people will have a better understanding of Ireland’s smoking culture and the pressures to smoke, as well as supports and information for anyone who wants to quit smoking or avoid starting smoking in the first place.
Throughout the campaign, we’ll be posting articles and videos with lots of information and personal stories from young people on our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.
