These free, online workshops are for those working with young people aged 16-25 in Ireland
SpunOut.ie is excited to announce our new four part online train the trainer series, which focuses on an introduction to sexual health education. The four sessions will cover topics from creating inclusive sexual health education for young people to the topics of sexting, porn and online safety. The aim of the series is to make youth workers and teachers more confident in discussing these topics with the young people that they work with, in a way that is inclusive of all participants regardless of their sexuality or gender.
What topics will the training series cover?
Session 1: Introduction to inclusive sex education
Date: Wednesday October 7th, 11:00am-12:30pm
Content Covered:
- Creating inclusive spaces for young people
- Using inclusive language
- Relevant policies and research on sex education in Ireland
- Activities/Tips when working with young people

Session 2: Consent and Healthy Relationships
Date: Wednesday October 21st, 11:00am-12:30pm
Content covered will include:

- Boundaries and types of boundaries
- Signs of a healthy relationship
- Definitions of consent
- Consent and the law
- Discussion on consent case scenarios

Session 3: Understanding Gender and Sexuality
Date: Wednesday November 4th, 11:00am-12:30pm
Content covered will include:
- What gender and sexuality mean
- Understanding Pronouns
- Practice scenarios on using correct pronouns and non-binary language
- Signposting to youth friendly information on sexuality, gender and support services for LGBTI+ young people in Ireland

Session 4: Sexting, Porn and Online Safety
Date: Wednesday November 25th, 11:00am-12:30pm
Content covered will include:
- What is sexting?
- Sexting and the law in Ireland
- Discuss the differences between sex in real life and sex in porn
- Describe online behaviour with increased risk and ways to stay safe online
- Online dating
- Access youth friendly information on sexting, porn, online safety and support services for any young people who experience exploitation online
