Counselling

Helplink offers a range of counselling/therapy services across Galway City and County – where all of their appointments are available in person. They also provide counselling online.

Shannon Family Resource Centre offer low cost counselling service for young people and adults. Following an initial assessment clients will be offered 6 sessions. If you require more support, the counsellor will assist you in identifying a suitable plan.

Counselling is provided subject to funding, you may be placed on a waiting list.

The centre provides one to one support for individuals, offers low cost counselling and therapy for people over 12 years old. People can access social and education opportunities.

Counselling services are available at a nominal cost for adults and adolescents. Services for young people aged 12-24. Offers counselling, youth clubs, Traveller services, group support. Some services have a fee or membership of €5.

Clare Youth Service supports young people through a range of programmes. They offer one to one support, small group activities, issue based groups and workshops, UBU, drug education, Garda youth diversion projects.

Focus Family Resource Centre aims to create a positive environment where people are encouraged and supported to build their confidence, to meet their own needs, access their rights, fulfil their own potential and engage equally in society.

Teach Oscail Counselling and Therapy Centre provides Talk Therapy for a range of issues including anxiety, stress, panic attacks, abuse, and trauma.

Carlow Regional Youth Service provides a confidential one to one counselling service for young people from 12-18 years to help them come to terms with problems in their lives.

Forward Steps FRC provides information, low cost counselling, children play therapy supports, education courses and training opportunities, and domestic violence outreach service.

Pieta provides emergency intervention counselling, helpline and support for those at risk of suicide or self-harm.
