SpunOut.ie is excited to announce the start of the ‘In My Own Words’ podcast series.

SpunOut.ie is a platform for young people across Ireland to share their experiences, advice and opinions with others. Hundreds of young people from across Ireland have submitted articles to SpunOut.ie over the years. Now, for the first time ever, you’ll be able to hear those stories directly from the authors themselves as we are releasing audio episodes of their stories.

‘In My Own Words’

Our new project, called ‘In My Own Words’, aims to give a voice to our readers and allow them to tell their own stories. Every Friday, SpunOut.ie will be releasing a new ‘In My Own Words’ episode. Keep an eye on our Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat pages for more updates and releases.

Where can I find the episodes?

To be the first to hear the latest episodes of ‘In My Own Words’, find us on Anchor. Anchor is free and provides you with unlimited listening, which means you can tune in to hear our audio episodes as often as you would like! ‘In My Own Words’ will also be available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and other streaming platforms very soon! You can also find all written articles which the audio episodes are based off in the “Opinion” section on the SpunOut.ie website.

How to get involved

If you feel like you would like to get involved with us here at SpunOut.ie, whether you have or not before, we are open to ideas and articles from new and existing volunteers. You can submit articles, videos or podcasts to SpunOut.ie by emailing [email protected] or through spunout.ie/submit. Take a look at our article, video and podcast submission guidelines before getting started.

Once your content is posted on the site, we can chat about possibly recording the piece for the ‘In My Own Words’ series. All the recordings take place in the SpunOut.ie office in Temple Bar, Dublin.

If you would like to get involved with us but feel like the ‘In My Own Words’ series is not for you, then you can take a look at some of the other volunteering opportunities that you can get involved with.
