To celebrate Valentine’s Day we have launched our ‘What’s Your Pleasure?’ campaign, which aims to give you, our reader, a better understanding of the important role sexual pleasure plays in benefiting your physical, sexual and mental health. The campaign includes articles on the essential role pleasure plays in overall health, lived experience pieces written by our content contributors, and interviews with young people and sexual health advocates and experts on the topic of sexual pleasure. The “What’s Your Pleasure?” campaign highlights how sexual pleasure begins with oneself, can be enjoyed alone as part of our overall wellbeing and can help enhance our consensual sexual experiences with others.

The topic of sexual pleasure is something that has often been surrounded by discomfort or a lack of understanding. Understanding from a young age that all sexual experiences should be pleasurable and bring joy can help you in developing healthy sexual attitudes, self-esteem, and can make you better able to communicate your sexual needs with partners.

Sexual pleasure is something that is good for you both physically and mentally, and everyone deserves to have it in their lives if they want it. Sexual pleasure can be experienced in many different ways, and what you enjoy sexually is unique to you. Pleasure is what makes masturbation or sex feel good, and feeling good is an important part of your sexual health, and your health generally. Take time this Valentine’s Day to discover more about sexual pleasure and maybe learn something new about yourself in the process.
